Discussion Questions #1

Part one of this project is to explore what it means to have a digital life, what power we have over our digital life and what power our digital life has over us.

  1. To what degree do you live online?
  2. Do you have a personal electronic device (like a cell phone)? How could you do your school work on it?
  3. Do computers give us more human connections or less human connections?
  4. If you had to write 5 rules for internet ethics and manners what would they be?
  5. Do you think teachers should encourage or discourage multitasking?
  6. What is better for teaching and learning D2L (closed learning management system) or blogs or other open public social networking tools? Why?
  7. Is there a need for online relationships in learning?
  8. Write a 6 word story summarizing an experience that you've had "living" and "learning" online. Take a look at some of the stories on the PBS website for inspiration.
  9. Control + Click brings up the speech option. Highlight the words to your poem and then click the speech option. You should have heard your words spoken. How could this help you?
