2. Planning

We are starting a digital citizenship project. The purpose of the project is to contribute positively and digitally to the CBE citizenship and/or character ends statement objectives.

Focus, Research and Post

  1. Read the CBE Citizenship and Character Ends statements. Brainstorm what activities you do that display citizenship and character objectives. Post either the Citizenship or Character Ends statement that you are going to work towards and reflect on why you choose it. Include a list of activities that you already do that display that objective.
  2. Decide on your topic. Focus your topic into an action statement. Choose a project that you are interested in; that you think you could do and that would reflect your chosen ends statement. Raising awareness about an issue for yourself and for others can be a very effective project.
  3. Discuss the discussion questions with a partner. Post your answers to the discussion questions. Write a thoughtful comment on a classmates blog to help them with their digital citizenship project.
  4. Research what is already being done on that topic.  Do a keyword search. Bookmark one reliable source, one questionable source and one "self-published" blog source.  Keep the addresses on a google doc so you can cite the sources later.
  5. Decide what little steps you need to complete in your project to take action on your topic.
  6. Link your google doc to your side bar and introduce your project idea, list the steps involved in completing your project and cite the research that you've found.
  7.  Link an RSS feed that is focused on your topic to your blogs sidebar.
  8. Timeline your project to be done by the due date. On your google calendar create personal due dates. Link your calendar to your sidebar.
